Lakeside Retreat
The brief for this space is to design a kitchen for a holiday cottage situated by a stunning lake in Scotland. It should be full of character, playful, and perfect for entertaining.
The kitchen is crafted to maximise the breathtaking views over the lake, with a peninsula island that faces both the main window and the expansive sliding doors. An antique glass splashback reflects the scenery, creating a mirrored effect as though there’s another window through which to watch the storm clouds roll in.

A substantial Elise gas range provides warmth during the winter months and offers generous cooking space for hosting guests. Above it, a striking cooker hood echoes the curve of a ship’s bow, adding a touch of nautical flair.
Light blue wall tiles, paired with a bold navy feature wall, inject colour into the room, complementing the white cabinetry adorned with sturdy yet elegant handles.

A combination of glass-fronted and solid cabinets offers varied storage options, ensuring both style and practicality. The kitchen is also equipped with a stainless steel sink, an integrated dishwasher, a pull-out bin, and under-counter fridge and freezer units, all contributing to a sleek and uncluttered aesthetic. A hot water tap further frees up counter space, eliminating the need for a kettle.
Elevations and a floor plan have been created for electricians, plumbers and tilers to get supplies in the correct places for appliances, sockets and lighting and plumbing in place before the kitchen installation begins.
